EU-funded Horizon 2020 project NO-FEAR

This project develops the Network Of practitioners For Emergency medicAl systems and cRitical care. This project creates the pan-European network of medical care practitioners, decision, and policy makers to share knowledge and the best practices.

EU-funded Horizon 2020 project SAFETY4RAIL

The SAFETY4RAILS project delivered methods and cyber-physical system for increasing the safety and recovery of track-based inter-city railway and intra-city metro transportation. For example, both cyber attacks (e.g. WannaCry infections) and physical-only attacks (e.g. Madrid commuter trains bombing in 2014) were addressed. The nature and techniques of combined cyber-physical attacks to IoT infrastructure were studied too.

EU-funded Horizon 2020 project I-LEAD

The project had the following focus areas:
1) Conducts smart monitoring of relevant research and innovation projects and technology watching, and scanning of pipe-line technology including also other security domains (defense, intelligence).
2) Provides assessment, selection and routing of promising technologies to LEAs in the Member States,
3) Identifies, categorizes and prioritizes capability gaps, the current situation regarding the baseline capabilities and the use of technology in the respective law enforcement practitioner groups.

EU-funded Horizon 2020 project eNOTICE

The main objective of this project was to establish a European network of CBRN training, testing and demonstration centres aiming for improved preparedness and incident response through increased collaboration between CBRN training centres and practitioners’ needs-driven CBRN innovation and research.

The project had the following focus areas:
1) Creation of a roadmap for the development of the European CBRN market and innovations,
2) To provide integration with platforms (tools, systems, services, products) by proposing standardized CBRNE interfaces and future EU standards.

The Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR)

The global study of the World Bank Group on the “State of Civil Protection in the World: Typologies, Good Practices and Economic Returns”. The study was divided in two main parts:

1) An analysis of the institutional diversity of civil protection systems and practices,
2) Deep-dive case studies in selected 16 countries to identify lessons-learnt and good
international practices
